In the Netherlands it is required by law to file a parenting plan together with your divorce request. If there is no agreement, you can file your proposal for the parenting plan and/or explain to the court why there is no signed parenting plan.

The parenting plan contains agreements about: main residence, alimony, care schedule, holidays, potential future relocations, potential new partners etc. Also it tells how decisions will be made about medical care, choice of school, sports etc.  And it can also contain agreements on how and how often parents will see each other to talk about the children and about how the parenting plan is working out.
