What personal data do we process?

Family Lawyer The Hague processes the following (types or categories of) personal data:

  • contact details and other personal data required for handling a case, including financial and payment details;
  • contact details and other personal data entered on contact forms or web forms;
  • contact details and other personal data provided during visits to our office, conversations, meetings, mentioned on business cards, etc.;
  • contact details and other personal data provided in the context of a job application, employment contract and/or potential participation in our recruitment activities.

  • data about your attendance at meetings and your interests;
  • personal data available on public websites and business social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn);
  • personal data obtained from the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce, the Land Registry or (other) public sources.

Family Lawyer The Hague processes the aforementioned personal data because it has been provided by you, the data subject, on your own initiative, has been obtained in the context of the provision of services, has been made known to us by third parties, including opposing parties, or has become known through public sources.

What is the basis for processing personal data?

Family Lawyer The Hague processes the personal data mentioned above exclusively on the basis of one or more of the following grounds:

  • consent obtained from the data subject(s);
  • performance of a contract or in the run-up to the possible conclusion of a contract;
  • legal obligation;
  • legitimate interest;
  • the data has been made public by the data subject(s);
  • the data has been obtained pursuant to the Police Records Act or the Judicial and Criminal Data Act;

Sharing data with third parties

Family Lawyer The Hague only shares personal data with third parties to the extent necessary for the provision of services and with due observance of the aforementioned purposes for processing. This includes conducting or commissioning an expert investigation or engaging another third party on behalf of and on the instructions of Family Lawyer The Hague (e.g. an IT supplier). Rights of data subjects

A data subject may send a request for access, correction, restriction, objection, data portability, deletion of personal data or withdrawal of previously given consent to info@familylawyer-thehague.nl. This request will be responded to within 4 weeks.

In order to ensure that Family Lawyer The Hague can respond to such a request in the correct manner, Family Lawyer The Hague asks the applicant to submit a copy of his/her valid passport, driving licence or identity card with a shielded passport photo and BSN number for verification purposes. Family Lawyer The Hague will only process requests relating to the personal data of the applicant.

There may be circumstances in which Family Lawyer The Hague is unable to comply (fully) with a request from a data subject. These include the duty of confidentiality of solicitors and statutory retention periods.
